1973 911T Targa
Well, it may be time to sell my 1973 911T Targa.
I need the money to buy a house. I was wondering if I could get some advice on how much I should ask for my car. Here are the details: 1973 911T Targa 2.4 MFI 44,000 original miles Interior is very good, all original black Paint is fresh, Dupont, original color silver New tires, Bridgestone Potenza Mahle Gas Burners set of 5, very nice condition. The car was in storage since 1982, when I got it, I have sent the last year restoring it to and getting it in good condition. I just took it for a 500 mile road trip last weekend and it ran flawlessly. The car could still use some TLC but is a very good original rust free driver at this point. What is it worth? Anybody interested? ![]()

If you looked at the May 2007 issue of Excellence Magazine, Bruce Anderson updated the market value of the longhoods. I do not have the issue in front of me, but you possess a very nice unmolested "T" with low miles, great mechanicals, no rust and good interior. That puts it in the far right column under "Excellent". If you do the TLC items you mentioned $25,000.00 for this car is reasonable. DON'T GIVE THIS ONE AWAY!!!!!!

That is about what I was thinking. I figure that it is worth around 20-23k right now, the main selling point would be the original miles on the car and no rust. If it was going to be be 25k I think the rubber seals would need to be replaced, the original radio, which I have, would need to be installed, struts and s few minor cosmetic things taken care of.
Thanks for your advice Bob. What do you think the outlook will be as far as value, say in 10 years from now?

Lyon.
These are very desireable cars right now and considering the miles and condition it may well fetch closer to 30-35K or higher if you market it right. Those few items to make it complete may well be worth investing in as well as a good detail to the interior and paint. You may well have to go beyond the "Pelican" market and venture into the higher end magazines (Hemmings to name one) where the serious players look for something this original. Your low miles and originality is the attraction. You rarely come across a car like this and it should demand a premium. It would be worth it to me to get the small items done as you listed and confer with some high end consignment houses to get their opinion on value and advertise through them or on your own with as much documentation you can muster. You can get a PCA Evaluation all nicely documented as well on the retail value. I stand corrected from my previous email and say that at 25K your giving it away!!!!! Good luck Bob 73.5T |

get everything correct and it will be well worth the effort.I wouldn`t take less than 35K for it. Take some very good photos.Hire someone if need be.Then put it on e-bay.I don`t like e-bay ,but is very cheap advertising and you can put a reserve on it that is high. You can then sort out the deals and go from there.Europeans are all over the place looking for cars with the EU being high.Don`t underestimate the value!!!!

I have no affiliation with the seller of this car.It is a fine example of very good photography. It makes the ad jump out at you.It is on a level on it`s own by comparison to the ads on e-bay.Worth a lot to the owner in returns.

Thank guys. I am making an offer on a building, an old brick brewery on he banks of the Mississippi River and I need to get some cash together.
I plan on renovating it and living there. It is really cool, barrel vault basement made of limestone, built in the 1870's. It could be really nice. I guess it is time to get the 911 looking good, get some nice photos and see what happens.
