1971 911T 2.2 coupe current going rates?
71 2.2t coupe 5 spd.
4 year old restoration. Nice driver. No rust, stored indoors of course. six pack carbs with fresh tune. receipts. olive/brown color, very nice and shiny paint. No sunroof. interior decent, needs door pocket attention. What are cars like this selling for? What do you think will happen with values in the short/medium term? Ebay doesn't seem to be a reliable source for sale prices, as they are all over the place and it is tough to assess condition by looking at a completed auction ad. Your thoughts on 70-71 2.2t coupe pricing?

My brother bought a rust free 'driver quality' type 1970 T with a documented 80k on the clock for $10,500 a year ago. It's been hit three times, but nothing major. Fair paint, decent interior, some minor oil leaks, runs like a top.
I think very nice cars of this vintage can hit $30,000 to $50,000 depending on how nice they are. "S" models are much more. Mint, low mileage cars can get close to 6 figures. Here's my guess on values: Junk that doesn't drive but is restoreable: $5000 to $10,000 Driver quality cars: $11,000 to $15,000 Nice driver cars that present well: $16,000 to $25,000 Really nice cars that would show well and drive well: $25,000 - $40,000 Concours quality cars with full documentation: Name your price. The market is red hot on these things... Last edited by Jay H; 07-20-2007 at 04:55 PM.. |

Here's a shot of the '70 I mentioned above and my brother's '65 in the background:

$10K or less.
The key problem is the color change: from one of the most desirable colors to one of the least. In a decent silver repaint, that's a low-teens car, IMO.

I recently paid $16K for a red / black '71T 8/10 overall, previous light front damage with fair repair, resprayed in original color in the nineties, minimal documentation, 58K miles. Only mods were permatune ignition and bursch quiet exhaust. After searching for a 70-71T for some time I recognized it as a pretty good deal.
