Early Fuchs on CL in Seattle

http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/pts/446065691.html

No real interest or affiliation. Interested to learn the value of these and if someone here is interested to let them know about these.

One thing about this set (and the pricing) - As far as I know the 4 1/2x15 Fuchs had their own paint scheme as compared to everything later. They only had small black painted "darts" extending from the lug holes that stopped at the end of the spoke area (or where the hole in the wheel ends). They didn't have black around the spokes or toward the outside of the wheel. I always hesitate to use absolutes when talking about correct Porsche parts, my experience with 356s has shown me lots of variations that you wouldn't expect. But I've seen quite a few sets of original 4 1/2s and all of them had the "less black" paint scheme. The paint job on those wheels doesn't affect how nice they look, but some of the value in hard to find parts like these is in their condition and correctness, so these would have to be refinished in that respect, so they're worth less than they might seem.

If anybody has seen an original set with the later paint scheme, speak up and correct me on this.

You're right.... the paint scheme is as you stated for the 67S wheels. These are too highly priced given the current condition.
