Newbie looking for some advice.
So I recently became the owner of my first Porsche. 1966 911
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1192231376.jpg My question is along with the car I got the original 2.0 liter (car has a 2.2 in it), that apparently some were along the way (20+ years ago, PO had car that long) the engine was set up as a 2.5lt. I have Norris cams, jugs, pistons, a complete engine (in boxes). I also have the original solex carbs, fuel pumps, air box ect. Is there any real value to someone else for these parts (other than the block) or are they just stuff I might need some day?? Also I got an extra set of BBS wheels, but they are METRIC??? (made in west germany) Thanks Joe D |
No answer - but that car is HOT.

The original engine isn't worth much to the car in its present state, IMO. The car has been taken too far from original to attract anyone concerned about 'matching numbers.'
The original case has a pretty hefty value on the market. The crank is worth something as well as the original cams, if in great shape. Same with the alternator fan and housing, The rest of the parts you'd probably sit on for a long, long time. If I were you, I'd try to sell it all in a package. The 2.5 in the car is a great engine, if built right. In the photo, the car looks spectacular. Enjoy. |
Thanks for the words of encourgement. Ya the car is way past 1966 on the outside, still the same inside.
thanks again Joe D |
