A return
Well after many years away from Porsche 911's I have decided to think about buying another coupe. I swore I would not after owning a few and finding out how difficult it is to sell them. I would like a turbo look without all of the headaches of the turbo, at least that is what I have been told, they are headaches. Are the 930's really a headache? Please advise and guide.

930s maintenance costs are higher. IIRC, you need to drop the motor to replace plugs, for example. As my brother told me, a normal 911 costs you in $500 increments, Turbos cost you in $1000 increments ;)

Thanks
I was beginning to think that knowone could give me a clue. Guess I will look for a non Turbo car and stick to the basic engine. Sure do like the wide bodies, but only on the cars.

While harder to find and commanding a price premium, Porsche did make "turbo look" 911's . From 1984-1989 you could get the "turbo without the turbo". It was an option that cost about $12K. They pop up from time to time. Available in Coupe, Targa and Cabriolet configurations. |
