PPI in Peekskill, NY

There is a '91 coupe with a salvage title being advertised in the For Sale section here:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=380769

It's got the salvage title and the seller doesn't really have any history on it. Carfax mileage checks out. I'm tempted because it might make a classy-looking, fun daily driver for the LA area and the price is right.

I'd like to see if anyone here is in Peekskill and wouldn't mind going and taking a look at it to see if it's worth investing in a PPI. Also recommendations on on a shop in that city.

I've never owned a 911 and am thinking this might be a way to get my toes in the water for minimal $$/risk.

I'm happy to work something out for payment for your time.

Any other feedback on whether this might be a wise decision also OK.

Buying a zero-history salvage-titled '91 964 tiptronic from the rust coast, sight unseen, and then shipping it across the country in winter is probably not a good way to minimize risk

Agreed. That's why I'm trying to find a pair of eyes to check it out and then get a complete PPI done before doing anything. I heard from two 964 guys on Rennlist who said that there's 6 inches of snow on the ground with another foot predicted over the weekend, so no one's going to be test-driving it soon.
