What a bargain

This is an observation... I have no affiliation with the person listing the car. I am just mid SC vram conversion and I see this listing on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsche-911-w-993-3-6-VR-1977-Porsche-911S-3-6-VARIO-RAM-many-upgrades_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ10156QQihZ011Q QitemZ320195888833QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

I figure that at the current price you could not buy the vram let alone the vram and conversion parts. I think I will be sick if the price does not at least double the current bid price!

I realize it is not an SC but I figure with the flares on the car it is 6 of 1 half dozen of the other...

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah... It was way too windy of a description for me. I got tired of reading all that, and did not care to finish reading the NOVEL, about his car.

Why do all the bidders have starts "****" in the name?!? Or is this normal, I do not often look on ebay...

The "stars" or asterisks (*) are to shield the bidders names from scammers perpetuating a fake "second chance offer" fraud. Only the seller and bidder can see the complete UserID.

I always think when someone writes that much they are trying to hide something in all the gobbily gook. There is way too much info there.

For you guys that have or are doing this how does the 915 do with a 993 engine?

It does just fine. I have a 3.6 in my 74 with a 915. It has been in there for over 2 years with very spirited driving.

There is a very subtle difference. Its pictured in this thread. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=370218&highlight=flares IMO the right side looks to be an sc flare. Nice hotrod anyway.

So...the"oval is more uniform..or symmetrical on the SC,,,and the RS seems to be canted forward @ the top towards the front ???

The car belongs to John Rice aka Alwaysflat6s here on Pelican. He is a long time contributor here. Wrote some MFI tech articles way back when. I'm sure he did the conversion right and the car is probably well sorted and a blast to drive. The rear flares are RS flares. You can tell by the way the edge widens at the top of the flare.

Jack O is running a 70's vintage mag-case 915 in BBII and he doesn't seem to baby it, from the videos I watched... It's not exactly factory though.

Nope, he didn't do the conversion... he says he bought it that way, with the conversion already done.
