In my experience, the G50 cars with that mileage are selling between $21k and $25k. However, that color is not highly desirable and may require a further price reduction under $21k if you are impatient.

I would not think a reduction in price for color would be warranted. It's a rare color and a very attractive one at that. I know these things are subjective but whenever I see a Cassis red car people are complimenting the color.

Between '87 and '89 Porsche had several metallic colors like Cassis Red, Nougat brown and Velvet red that look great, again IMHO.

A good price is often a function of condition and presentation assuming your car is prepared appropriately and based on the specifics you listed I think you could push the high end of the range crosby50 gave you.

The race items added to your car might hold down values a bit, or will limit the market for buyers. Cams and valve springs at 41k and new chain tensioners at 51k may raise a few eyebrows to people. These repairs/mods may scare away people who feel 3.2 liter motors don't need those items at such low mileage and may question how the car was used.

I love Casis Red cars. Probably one of Porsche's best all time colors on a 911. However, they are a bit harder to sell. AIC Auto has had two of these cars in the recent past (one is still for sale on their site) and they tend to sit longer than the typical black, red, silver & white cars.

I agree with others on the price range depending on the ultimate condition of your car.

Again, no offense is intended. Just offering an opinion.

There is an '87 guards red coupe/black in San Diego with 57k miles. Perfect in and out. He will not come off $25.9. I has been for sale for months. Does this help?

The reason for the cams and springs at 41k was because the car started using oil, valve guides, and I elected to repair them. While in the process we also replaced the head studs, rod end bolts and clutch. The total cost was 10k. The rings showed no wear. The replacement of the valve guides and the other repairs were not urgent but I like things to be wright. It was a good time to add the cams and the stiffer valve springs were more of an insurance policy. With the motor apart the rod end bolts and head studs are two possible weak points and I considered them preventive measures. The same thing with the clutch.

About a month ago just before a major service I had my mechanic replace the chain tensioner because we thought one was making some noise. Again I was just being overly cautious. I use the car for work and also week end trips and I do not want any problems when I am on the road.

In both of the above cases the repairs I made were probably not necessary, just as changing the oil every 3500 miles is over kill. I got my car back after almost 6 weeks in the body shop. They replaced the hood which had a very small dent and was the only body panel damaged. I replaced the H-5s with new H-4s. The H-4 are much better than the OEM headlights. The valance and front bumper were repainted off the car to repair the stone chips. The hood was also repainted off the car and the color match was prefect.

On the way home I stopped by the shop where the car is serviced. The owner is a PCA concour judge. His opinion was, "it looked like nothing had ever happened". This was after inspecting the trunk area and fender wells.

I still would have to disclose the fact that the car had been in an accident but I have the paper work and photos to prove it was minor and that I would have had to repaint the front of the car at some point due to the road rash.

I think Crosby50 is right on... At the end of the day (all things considered, including color) I think the car will sell in the is a $19.5-22k range.

It sounds like it is a he!!uva car for around $20K!! Brings to mind all the newbies that get on here and complain about not being able to find a nice honest SC/Carrera coupe.

Here's one, i'd guess. No affiliation, never laid eyes on the car, but if I were in the market, I'd be calling this guy right now, and introducing myself.
