Wink Somebody is really in love with their '85 Euro Carrera!

No affiliation with the sale what so ever but this guy's description of this car is priceless!

The description is priceless. He'll continue to be the owner unless he lowers his price. You can find a nice low miles g/50 car for that price.

I e-mailed the guy. He owns a marketing firm (surprised?).

Refused my offer of $16k.

I like this line

"Note the rear seat belts: even family men can own Porsches! "

He's foolish and completely out of touch with the real world market value of that car. (Maybe he's been reading Bruce Anderson's out of touch value column in EXCELLENCE. ) But since he's not going to sell it any time soon, you should call him once a month with a slightly lower offer. By summer time, you'll own that car, and he'll wish he took your original offer of $16K.

Sellers out of touch with the market is nothing new. The 964 speedster seller offered at 125k is the samething. There is an identical speedster on ebay with only 16k miles now for 79k which is still way off the market.

I agree that the marketing spin on this ad is just plain hard to read. If he just dialed it down about 3 notches, it might be a nice read. Now, it just appears that he is overselling this car.

The Euro Carreras seem to have an uptick in the market place recently. That being said, I don't think that this car warrants $27k at this point in time.

If it's clean, tight, indeed carries it's original paint, has minimal wear in the interior and is without major mechanical or cosmestic issues, this could be a $22 to $24k car all day long. Yes, maybe Southern California pricing is different, but it's a global market these days.

This is not a $27k car, but it's definitely worth more than $16k.

judging by the pics, and the guys face, it looks like the californiaclassix guy... semi famous for nice cars and "romantic" wording of his ebay auctions, he used to have hot girls, but not in a while...
