Help me put a fair price on my 1987 Targa

I have the 930 Turbo bug bad so I am getting ready to put my 1987 Targa up for sale. What is the collective opinion of its worth?

1987 Targa (Guards Red)
88,000 miles.
No oil leaks
Needs no mechanical repairs.
All service is current
New clutch (<5k miles on it)
Tires and brakes are good

Front half paint is a 8.5? (Some small stone chips down low)
Rear paint is a 10 (High quality repaint after a rear-end love tap)
Interior is a 9? (some carpet wear around the clutch area)

Your thoughts on a fair price?

Very Nice

I would start at $18,900 and work your way down. It looks great in the picture but the selling point will be the test drive. I have an 86 Carrera coupe, same color in similar condition to yours with 119k miles that I picked up for $16,500.

Good Luck,

LD Ortiz

I agree with Idortiz... I just located a car just like yours (87 targa, 90+k) for a customer that was real clean, but needed about $2k in basic things for $16k....

I concur with the previous and would suggest that if the only reason you are calling the front half paint an 8.5 is for minor road rash down low you get some Doctor Color Chip. I have done that on my cars and it makes the smaller chips just disappear. Super easy to use and permanent results. No excuses after that!

Do whatever you can easily do that will help you elevate the condition of the car.
When a car is as nice as yours the little things can make all the difference.
