Old parts with car question-value
Hello,
I am putting a ducktail and euro bumperettes on an SC. Does it behoove me to hold on to the old parts for re-sale, or is it mach nicht? I can recoup some cost of conversion by selling, but does that mean the car is "less valuable" so harder to sell? Garage space not an issue. Money not really and issue. Just a re-sale question. Also have the original headlights with the Hella H-4 bulbs and rings which might be worth a couple bucks to somebody. Thanks Scott |
I am old school. If you have the space, keep the old parts. You may change your mind in the future.. if not, you can offer them when you sell the car and if the buyer doesn't want them, then sell them on the open market. No harm, no foul.

This may sound extreme, but if you plan to keep the car for some time, or even sell it to another true enthusiast, keep 'em. They aren't worth much now, but I know lots of 356 guys who are kicking themselves for throwing away things like those "hard to find tires for" 16" wheels. They're worth $2000 a set for avg wheels these days, and everybody wants to bring their cars back to original spec.
