Early 911S goes crazy on eBay

There's no way this can be right, but according to the bid history there's actually two people bidding at this level. Check it out...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsche-911-1973-Porsche-911-911S_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ10156QQihZ007QQite mZ170192038796QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Currently at $323,100. It's got to be off by a decimal place, right???

Just last night the car was at $20,100. I checked it after someone on EarlyS said it was
$201K. I suspect the current bid is a typo, but you never know. I also suspect, as do many others, that this is not a legit ad--car is in El Cajon but the seller cannot take pics because it's -20c and snow? Seller has no feedback. Seller cannot verify an earlier ad in July but claims to be the owner as car didn't sell. Seller does not acknowledge the sale just last month. Too many flags. I did email the seller from the January sale to see if the ad had been hijacked and also asked if he can enlighten us on the legitimacy of this ad. We'll see...

edit: Just checked the ad again. A little further investigating shows tons of cancelled bids. Looks like he's being yanked around by those who suspect a scam.

Bid is down to 2,025 now.

If anyone is seriously interested I live in the next town over and would swing by and take a look.

Andy,

I seriously doubt if the car is in El Cajon, but it would be interesting if you did ask to see it--just to hear his reply. Maybe we are all wrong and the car is his and is in S.D. but your inquiry could help clear up this unusual sale. Let us know.

To me it is more like, those who can't place a bid the right way were taken out by ebay. So quick on calling names.
Were is that " not guilty till proven othervise" status?

I just checked it again, and now the listing has been removed. Seems like you guys were right about something being fishy.

If an S were ever to reach over $300k, and a T was within an order of magnitude of that, I'm selling and buying a 240Z.
