1988 911 Weissach

Anyone know what a 1988 911 Weissach (genuine) would be worth?

1977 911S
British Columbia

The Weissach edition was only offered in 1980, a variant of the 911SC with certain extras such as an early turbo spoiler, paint and piping. In 1988 Porsche offered a Commemorative Edition, which as far as I know (but could be completely incorrect) was only offered in Diamond blue metallic. Which car are you inquiring about?

You are correct it is a commemorative addition with the diamond blue and blue leather interior. Asking a lot of money so I wanted to find out some opinions.

Hi Kevin, are you buying this car in Canada or in the US? I generally find that Canadian cars tend to be quite a bit more expensive then their US counterparts, despite the relative ease with which a car can be imported. That may account for a large asking price.

The Commemorative edition is really a cosmetic "special edition" and as such wouldn't generally command a premium in the marketplace, however the Diamond Blue Metallic is quite a nice colour, and so in general you can expect to pay a small premium, as you might for any other Carrera 3.2 in a desirable colour.

I think it is difficult for any 3.2 short of a concours car to break $20k now, especially with the economic troubles in the US reducing the number of people shopping for a toy. If this is a really nice car, I could see $18-19k. Deduct from there for flaws, and whatever you do, make sure you get a PPI. I nearly got into a car that I thought was wonderful, and turned out to be a dog. Always get a PPI.

Thanks for the advice. The car is for sale in Canada it has 140,000 km and the seller is asking 35,000, which I thought outrageous. I have a midyear 911S which was my first Porsche buy. I love the car but I am looking for something a little special. Would love to have a longhood but nice examples such as yours sounds are pretty rare. Drive on out to Beautiful BC sometime and I will show you some great roads.

I used to have one of these. It was a Euro edition cab w/ under 40K miles. The guy I sold it to is looking to sell it now. It was listed on the PCA web site. I think he's looking for mid $20's. It is a super nice car. I'd buy it back if I were able to.

I'm John's friend, who has his former car. Yes, I'm selling it. Not because it's not a nice car, cause it's a great car. I bought 2 other significant Porsches that need to be restored and this sale will cover alot of my restoration expenses. I'm asking 26k with a little wiggle room. It has 36,612 miles on her. Car is in Tampa, FL

Matt I didn't forget about you, just been busy picking up my other cars, working at Sebring. I'm going to Georgia tomorrow and will call you from the road.
