What should a 1990 c4s cabrio sell for
What should one expect to pay for a solid car with some maintenance? What issues are particular to the 964 I should look for?

All depends on miles, condition and paperwork. The 1990 964 had some issues with oil leaking at the base of the cylinder due to the design which didn't use a gasket there originally. By this time in their life cycles those which are going to leak probably have and those that did were repaired. I like the 964 personally but the C4's all wheel drive system was overly complex and can be very costly to repair. Porsche went to a much less complex and lighter system in the 993.
I have seen a fair number of C4 cabs on the market recently including some very nice examples.

One went up 4 sale near here for 12,500, I was going to pick it up and flip it, I was thinking it was worth around16-18. I have heard about that 4wd system though.

That sounds like a really cheap price but then again it depends on condition, miles and records. It may not be that easy a flip either.

964
Just be careful, these cars are not cheap to fix. A friend of mine bought one of these cheap cars and proceeded to dump 40k+ into the car. He then turned around and sold it for mid 20s. A nice flip in less than 1 year of -25K. Know what your buying. Regards Mitch

If you've never done it flipping is not always a layup

Ya I know, and was prepared to hold it for a while. Should stick to cars with values I know though.
