Thinking of selling my '70 hotrod

I've been bitten by a 914-shaped bug lately and I am thinking of selling my '70 911T. It has a 2.4 engine with MFI (built by the PO), 915 transmission, S brakes, Rennshifter, Recaro driver's seat (and lookalike passenger seat). It revs great, runs strong. Interior needs some work but it's a real hoot to drive. No sunroof body is solid with decent paint and some fiberglass parts. What's a good way to determine the market value of this car?

Put it on eBay with a good, honest description and tons of pics and see where the bidding goes. You can always set the reserve high enough that if it sells you will be ecstatic, and if it doesn't sell, you will see what people were willing to bid on it, and perhaps attract some other offers outside the auction setting.

Here are some pictures. Feel free to ignore all the homebrewing hardware since Flickr only allows 3 photo sets for free users.

Got the 914-6 bug??? I'm looking to sell or trade my conversion. I need something with back seats (912 or 911 - kids are still small enough to fit!). Car needs paint & some interior TLC but it has a newly built 2.7 with webers, full roll cage, SC front suspension, 5 lug Fuchs, correct reinforcements in the rear, stiffer rear springs, remote oil tank & cooler up front, rennshifter, etc. I can send you pictures if your interested or email me at: jvirnoche AT hotmail.com

The 914 I end up with could be a 6 conversion, but I am also thinking about a Jake Raby Type 4. I like working with the Type 4 because engine drops are a piece of cake.

No doubt about it, the 4's are easier to drop & Jake makes some of the tastiest 4's on the street. The 914 I put the six in is Jake's old test mule. He had all the mods done - I put the six in along with the oil tank/cooler for the six & added some additional stiffeners in the rear. Shifter, cage, suspension, etc were done by Jake's crew.

Anybody have a web address or contac info for Jake and his crew?

I have a 356 Outlaw and I'm exploring engine options. I've considered building the 356 motor just short of race specs, stuffing a flat-6 into it,
or putting in a 2.2ltr type 4.

I got time to decide cause she aint on the short list right now.

Thanks,

Paul

You'll end up spending about the same amount of money, so I'd go with the Type IV from Jake. Saves weight and it actually fits into a 356 with minimal hassle - putting a six in a 356 is a *****!!!!

The PO told me that he built the engine on a 2.4 engine case. It's been some time since I spoke with him, so my memory may be faulty. I think he put the red shroud on because he used S cams. I may not be super clear remembering the details here because I didn't spec or build it, I just bought the car as a completed project and he moved on to another one.
