Valuation of 69 Hot rod
I have a 69 911 T race car I am thinking about selling here are the specifics
Completely rust free chassis Fresh T motor w/ S cams and P&C's, I am going to dyno next week motor pulls very hard. Fresh 915 with limited slip (new) SC brakes, tubular torsions, weltmeister sways Lexan glass, interior stripped, fuel cell, cage firesystem etc. Car still has all lights, turn signals, wipers etc so it would be an easy conversion back to street hot rod duty. Would need fresh paint (Tangerine). What's something like this worth? Thanks, Phil ![]() |

Well-sorted race cars (especially those with history) seem to go for much more than its' "civilian" version.
I'm not an expert, but...$25k ~ $35k? |

First thing to figure out is where would it fall (rules wise) with the mods it has. Then the engine bit, what is else is there if its "only a T with S cams and pistons" whilst peppier/peakier than a T its still a hot rodded T and not a race engine. The weltmeister bits are track car parts and not (in my book anyway) race car parts.
Not trying to be harsh just commenting. I bought a similar car couple of years ago however it was a 69S with an S engine, bolt in cage, no fuel cell, new high quality belts, similar suspension with S brakes and a beautiful brand new paint job, price was in the low 20's and I think I overpaid. In the current market I'd think you could get $15 to $25 as a track car or a prospective race car. I have seen good race cars go for $35-$60 and excellent ones for $75-$150 (but that is with $40-50 motors in them). Good luck with the sale.

Juan,
I think your comments are spot on, car is somewhere between a race car and DE car in current state. To build this car as it sits would be very expensive but to take this car in it's current state to a competitive car depending on class would be expensive as well. Phil |

That is very true Phil. One way I have looked at valuation of these cars is to add up the cost of the parts and take a depreciation adjustment. If you do that, you'll be in the mid $20's.
I'm sending you a PM
