Value question: vintage magnesium Minilites

A friend has come across a set of 15 X 5.5" Minilite wheels in very good condition. I assume these are highly desirable for 356 vintage racers. My guess is that they could be worth close to $2K for the set.

Opinions?

Are they magniesum or aluminum? In my conversations with the vintage trans am guys the old magniesum wheels can be weak due age and not safe to race. Keep in mind that minilites are still made today. Yes, I know, I can't spell

Aluminum minilites are pretty heavy and are still available new, Mg ones probably are no longer safe to race on.
