Can You Name This Vendor?
I want to give a heads-up to anyone considering doing business with ..... They are an aftermarket parts supplier in Canada.
I once had a vision of buying a nice high performance intercooler for my 930. So in November 2007 while the Canadian Loonie was above par with the US dollar I decided to purchase a 930 IC Bolt-on intercooler from them. It was half the price of a US made IC. From there everything turned sour!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...oilet_claw.gif. In Canada our winters last forever so in March of 2008 I decided to test fit the IC onto my car. It did not fit. The mounting holes on the new IC were off by as much as 1/2 an inch. The next step was to contact .... and explain my situation. Impossible to reach them by phone, they don't answer their business phone! So I emailed them and I requested a refund. Fair I think :confused: since my $1000 expenditure was useless and did not fit my car. They refused to acknowledge my email and they did not respond. So I emailed them again, and again and finally they responded. They said they would replace the lemon with a new one. I gave them the measurements and they said that's what they needed. This was in March 2008. I waited and waited and waited for feedback from them but NO feedback! I sent numerous emails requesting a completion date for the new IC. After 3 months they said they had shipped it. Ha, I was a happy camper. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/beerchug.gif. I asked for tracking number and they gave me one so I checked daily to see when it would arrive. The tracking info on UPS NEVER changed. So what is happenning now I thought? An email from them stated "I had screwed up on the shipping; Sorry for the mix-up. Are you willing to take our 930 full width IC for replacement " This is now May 2008!!! So all this time went bye and they had not even tried to replace the ill-fitting IC! They did not even make an effort to communicate with me. I was just "dust in wind" to them. I have never had such a bad experience in dealing with a vendor for a part, any kind of part but what boggles my mind is that this was an expensive part! By the way, I also know of someone else who has had the same experience with them so I am not alone nor am I telling a fictitious story. FYI: My vision of buying a nice high performance intercooler for my 930 is still a vision. |
