Vintage Aftermarket Recaro Seat
My newly acquired 73 Targa came with one of these seats and I would like to have a matched set if possible.
I believe it is a 70's aftermarket seat. Does anyone know what model it is, where it might have come from, where I might find it's mate and how much it might cost for one seat? Thanks ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I doubt very seriously you'll be able to find a match to that seat. It's definitely period with that weave in the center sections, but I've never seen one for sale. If you want to have a matched set, I'd sell the single driver's seat and then buy a pair of what you want for the car.

Quick tip , if you peruse German ebay you may come upon a set , it's called the ideal seat
sold in the aftermarket back in the '70s I saw where you posted I guess on the S registry and thought to respond just not certain I can part with mine. In the UK they're called rallye seats and are very sought after to the tune of 3-4 K (pounds!) a piece! I have two and likely wouldn't part with one or the set under 2500. sorry...Bert
