1967 912-Black Plate CA car

Folks-

Got a line on a '67 912 with 1967 CA black plates and what looks to be minimal if not no rust on a quick fly-by. Color looks to be non-original based on what was showing where the dash pad used to be, but everything is there including the hubcaps, trim, and other goodies. Will have some more detail this p.m. after a closer look, but what's the ballpark value on something like this?

Thanks.

More information...

Looked her over more carefully and everything is there, but she's been rode hard and put away wet. Motor was "freshly rebuilt" but the coil was laying on the shroud and the "owner" wanted $150 to get a mechanic to come fix the coil and points to make it a runner. The car also was missing the dash pad which showed a little rust near the cowl and had some sort of black goo sprayed all over the interior and front trunk including all over the wiring, dash, and headliner. It had a cheesy carpet kit that prevented any inspection under the rug, but the pan appeared solid. I also couldn't find any bondo with the magnet test and the kidney bowls, torsion bar mounts, shock mounts, rockers, and front suspension pan all seemed to be completely solid. Hood crest is there as well as the hubcaps, steelies, and the old skool air cleaners to fit the carbs. It is some bastardized Signal Orange color now, but appears to have been Polo Red at birth. There also was an odd tag riveted to the rear inner bumper with some German text and a number, but I didn't get time to see what it said.

With that said, I am passing on this one as the owner is sketchy beyond belief and actually tried to shut the hood on my head and kicked us off the property when my buddy let him know that it wasn't worth the $18.5k he said the "only other 912 available in Northern California" was. He also lied about multiple things on the car (over the phone said it was a 911 with "triple carbs") and seems like a totally arrogant scumweasel who either stole the car or is dreaming on values that are way off base.

If you're still interested, PM me and I'll tell you where it is in Sacramento and you can take your chances. He wants $6k but I tend to suspect much is not kosher with the paperwork and I betcha there's some big hidden monsters lurking in the shadows with this one.

Good hunting!
