Salvaged 01 C4 Cab

What do you guys/gals think an '01 black on black salvage title C4 cabriolet worth? Car has 55K miles and looks decent. I'd say it's average to good condition throughout. Although there is no documentation of the accident, the seller claims it is a result of the headlights being stolen and the front end being mangled as a result. Also note worthy is that the hood needs a harder than usual push to latch it (probably just an alignment issue but worth mentioning).

The damage occurred two owners ago so no first hand information will ever be had about what the actual damage was. Both a local guy and a Porsche dealer have looked at it without finding any major faults. But again, no service records available.

What do you think?

I doubt it was just that. Replacement headlights are @ $2500 for the set. then throw in cost to repair fenders and you are still way under $5k. What probably happened was a front ender where the bumper, front fenders and headlights got smashed and the airbag was triggered and probably some suspension damage. Just my guess.

salvage

I bought a 92 C2 with 65,000 miles that was a salvage for 18800 last year. It was a similar story, some front end damage. I had it checked out and evrything looked okay. I have had no regrets. I was able to buy a newer car in better shape for less money. I know it will be more difficult to sell, but I did not buy the car to sell it.

Good luck with your search. I hope my sales price info helps.

You might also try to determine if the head gasket issue has been addressed.
