Feeler... 86 ROW no sunroof coupe
Just a feeler on a 130k miles non sunroof carrera. Kind of rough shape, no carpets, motor turns over but does not run, no rust but drivers door has been replaced and painted to match, no records. On the positive side it comes with 16's and 15's. Have an opportunity to pick it up very cheap.
Thoughts on a ballpark value? Forgot to mention this is a ZZZ row car.

Macroni,
If you don't mind me asking..... How is your blue 911 sorting issues coming along? Looked pretty sweet the last pictures that I saw.

I would agree with the 5 to 8K. If you can get it for sub 7K I think you are safe to part it out and make some money. If you want a project car I would try and get it closer to 6K or less. Plan on an engine rebuild costing at least 5K.
Why was the door replaced? If the car was hit I would lower my estimates severly. That is just my personal preference though. I personally don't want a car that was bent, unless I know for certain that it was fixed properly. A bent tub is expensive to repair. What size fuchs? Wider is better ![]() If I were you I would use the tissue and magnet test to see if I could find any areas of bondo. Or eastwood has a neat little tool that can measure paint thickness, if you find areas of real high paint thickness, expect to find bondo underneath. http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=1799&itemType=PRODUCT I hate finding accident damage after a purchase. I've done it twice, and it is tied with rust as the major post purchase dissapointement. I guess that doesn't matter if you are planning on parting it out though. Hope the new job is going well. Rich

It goes back in next month to sort the electrical. When the car was painted the shop was unable to navigate a modified 3.2 car; lots of basics aren't working. I also need to get my hood lights wired and windshield wipers adjusted. Mechanical issues are suspension set-up [rubbing issues], disconnected heat and the idle still is unstable. The shop who is doing the work is busy and I want a concentrated effort so I am being patient. of course this doesn't mean the car hasn't been exercised. It has! Luke
