How to value a modified SC?
 
In the Spring of 2005 I purchased a 1980 911sc. The car had two owners prior to me. The first held it for 23 years and lavished it with love. It was treated to niceties such as a complete motor rebuild by John Walker with new Mahled P&C’s, Oil pump, etc… second owner had the car a very short time and then I came along.
I have all receipts… two notebooks worth.
Things I have done / replaced over the last few years.
1. Transmission:
a. Wevo shifter and shift coupler
b. WEVO internal gate shift kit
c. Sachs Power Clutch
d. Guard bearing retainer plate
e. Guard 40/60 LSD
f. Gears as follows:
1st Gear- 11:35 (stock)
2nd Gear- 17:34
3rd Gear- 20:29
4th Gear- 24:27
5th Gear- 28:24
g. New OEM synchros and sliders as needed
h. Put Swepco red

2. Suspension:
a. Koni adjustable shocks
b. Elephant Racing Triangulated Strut Brace
c. Elephant racing Polly bronze bushings
d. Elephant racing co-linear arm mounts
e. Elephant racing mono balls front and rear
f. Sanders 22mm and 28mm hollow torsion bars
g. Lemforder Ball joints
h. Rack spacers
i. Wevo semi solid engine mounts at rear
j. Carrera club sport transmission mounts
k. Aligned and balanced by Byron Tate (Trueline Bellevue)

3. Wheels and Brakes:
a. 23mm Master Cylinder
b. Rennsport Brake package
i. 930 Claipers Front and Rear
ii. Two piece rotors front
iii. One Piece rotors rear
iv. Fresh OEM brake lines
v. ATE super blue
c. OEM Wheel bearings
d. Welded 8X16 fronts and 9.5X16 rears
e. Falken Azenis tires 225s and 245s
f. CV joints (With OEM bolts and washers)

4. Motor bits:
a. PMO 46mm Carbs
b. Re-circulating fuel system
c. New fuel pump
d. Replaced all fuel filters
e. Re-curved Distributor
f. SSI headers
g. Monty Muffler
h. Proper temp spark plugs
i. Elephant racing finned oil lines
j. High Torque Starter
k. Alternator

5. Lightness:
a. Wevo Battery replacement kit
b. Dumped the entire AC
c. Deleted the spare and the Jack
d. Back dated heat
e. Removed blowers
f. Threw out the subwoofer and amp
g. Deleted bumperettes
h. Deleted door pockets
i. Deleted rear seats

6. Miscellaneous
a. Added Sound deadener
b. New carpet kit (Partially installed)
c. Fresh visors (Waiting to install)
d. Extra set of 6 and 7 inch Fuchs
e. Reversed the wipers
f. Spare speedometer never installed (I was going redo the original with 150mph numbers)
g. 930S sterring wheel
h. H4's

7. Things needing attention:
a. Paint
b. Upholstery

a pic would help as these items are great but are they tastefully installed and what does the over package look like.

$20K. give or take... Depressed sellers market..The specs read nice, but a picture backs up the claim. Visual issues like Paint and interior can be a doom.. Decent quality repaints can be what, $5k? How bads the interior upholstery?

$290k seems high for an SC, no matter what it has had done to it. Then add paint and you are at $24-27000. No one will pay that much for an SC when good original ones are floating around in the low teens.

290K? Yikes.. that would be high for an SC.. maybe market correct for a '73RS though ;)

$20k :) If I had $290K to buy a car, I'd buy a low miles Ford GT for $130k and put the rest into a lost week in Vegas....
