Good Value?
Car #1:
1988 Targa. 50k miles, newer tires, turbo tail, 996 steering wheel. 2 owners, service records for the last 5 years. Asking $20k. Car #2: 1988 Cab. 90k miles, wide body conversion (non-factory), RS wing, BBS wheels. No service records, 4 owners. Asking $20k. Both cars of course would be PPI'd. What youse think? |
#1 sounds reasonable to me.
I'd stay away from #2 just because I don't like the unknown around conversions. Plus, wide body and RS wing sounds way too gaudy to me. |

yeah, i was leaning towards #1 also. how's your search going? found any other G50s? |
Search is not happening. However, I'm going to see Tim Holt tomorrow to look the Baltic Blue 89 over again. He sent me a note and wanted to discuss pricing again so I'll give him another chance.
Not sure what I'll do tomorrow since my current company is ready to fold. I got a plum of a job offer that I took but was sent a note telling me that my contract had to be reviewed by the board on Monday. Good thing I didn't resign today as I was planning! |
Oh, yeah, hard economic times. Weren't you looking into jobs at the Porsche factory, er I mean in Germany?
|
That's the job. Not Porsche factory but a company based in Germany; went over for an interview, etc. The board meeting may be a formality and I'm probably worrying over nothing since one of the senior head honchos really wants me on board.
I'm just bummed because the offer is fantastic and I don't want it going south. It was like a punch in the gut this morning when I got that email. |
The blue one over at Tim's is a sweet car.
I agree with the pack here, the Number 1 car sounds like a better deal so long as the PPI is reasonable. Lose the 996 wheel not even sure how or why someone would put a 996 ab wheel on an 88. |
