I completely understand JB.

I can tell you though that the better cars never end up getting advertised to 'the public'. In most cases someone who has a special car might find out about someone looking for a car that fits their description, along with knowing that the buyer's budget is within the range that might induce them to sell. These people often have more than one Porsche, and are not interested in dealing with all of the tire-kickers that an ad or auction would result in.

If I was in the market now I would post here, on the Early Registry, and with the PCA (local and national) something like this (my ideal car);

"Wanted, 1970-1971 911S or 911E coupe in Very Good to Excellent Condition. No red, black, or white cars please. To be taken seriously please include a quality picture of the vehicle, and a description of the front pan, jacking points, rear torsion mounts as well as any significant motor or transmission work. My budget is $30k-$40k for the right car. Educated Buyer."

If you set up a free Hotmail or Yahoo email account you can protect your privacy and delete most of the junk that comes in without too much hassle. I promise you will open yourself up to more cars (and probably better cared for cars) than waiting for them to be advertised and then competing with other buyers.

This is just my opinion of course.

Cheers,
-Mike
