Am I missing something? eBay ad

Can't fault him for trying ...

It's a rust free classic!

(Buy the classic, get the rust for free).

But it's a rare '72...shouldn't take much (NOT!) to put that back together.

I was looking at that ad, trying to figure why even advertise? I had a hard time finding ANY part on it that the lowliest of project tubs could need. I think it's worth more as scrap metal than the bother to sell it on eBay, but he has WAY different ideas!

I wouldn't pay $17 for that rotted out POS..

s_chev 01-08-2009 02:25 PM

Wow, I just sit in amazement trying to figure out WHAT you could actually need off that.

And this just cracks me up...
..."The car was originally "no-sale brown" and has been repainted rose. There is no limit to good taste."

Paint?? Did you say there was some color of paint under all the rust? Dang, I must have missed that in the pictures.

Isn't the oil-filler door on a '72 worth at least $1750?

If the hinge isn't broken.

may not look like much now, but imagine the possibilities

engine, crappy seat, transmission and you could have a real fun sand or snow buggy without having to do any body work!! What a blast that would be.

so you could sand blast the chassis and get a good resto-basis! Clever idea!!
Have to move near the sea and a country where it is legal to drive at the beach...
but could be dessert as well!

Think about it.

GaryR

Didn't say it would last very long, but for the short term it could be fun.

Or could even do some type of Mad Max retro-buggy out of the beast.

 I actually thought you were joking! The POS has no brakes, no usable suspension, and is rotted out and falling apart! It is waaaaay past being worth $.02...

With a bit of TLC (and $100k) this will be a beauty again :D
