1972 911 t targa with some rust newer motor
hey everyone
what im wondering is what a 72 T with some rust bubbles on the bottom of the doors and some rust on the front fenders would maybe be worth, let me tell you the story of this car, like most the cars i have bought i have tract them down for one reason or another. this one i found 5 years ago sitting in the drive of a guys house i stopped buy to ask about the car and he said he would never sell it. well for several years i watched this car and finally in the last 4 months i stopped buy again. this time he said make him an offer i looked the car over talked to the shop that had worked on the engine in the past and decided i would have to put a minimum of 9,000 into the car if i did all the work myself including paint and body. so i offered him 7500.00 for the car and felt it was fair as we all know we under estimate a restore. this is an offer for a car that i would have to take on his word how it drives. as it is covered in moss and would need alot before i tried to run it. am i out of line here ? this is not a very eye catching car it is signal orange and i really like this color thats why i keep thinking about it. im sick i know this but i really feel its my duty to rescue this Porsche. should i offer more????? maybe a trade for a 75 rust free sporto targa??? what to do cheers ed |
