Is it seasonal or economic are a bit of both?

I'm beginning to see more movement of SC and mid-year 911s in other marketing publications.

Most appear to be reasonably well maintained from the descricption. THe most interesting thing to me has been what was not listed inthe description.

In several ads I've seen now the car is showing with a for sale sign in the yard behind it and or in a couple of pictures what appears to be a lot of boxes and furniture in disarray in a window in the background.

I know there appears to be a very strong bias on this site that the 20 year old p-car market is not one to be effected by the current economic situation, that the people who possess them are somehow immune to the fallout. Not sure if that's a desire to believe more than it is truth.

Any feedback.

I can't help but believe that the SC and mid year market is just as affected as any other car market in these times. Owners of these cars are not immune from job loss or mortgage foreclosure. I do know that I sold a 1984 Targa with 80K miles on it for $16,500 in June, 1999 and almost 10 years later similar cars with similar mileage are being offered for the same or nearly the same prices. There is a 1985 Targa near me that is now for sale for $13,500. It has been for sale for about 5 months and the asking price has steadily decreased. Like in any economic downturn, there are going to be some deals to be had for those with some cash. Just my two cents worth. John

The market is just plain nuts right now. New record high asking prices for all kinds of Porsches -- including your desired G50s -- and lots of cars with low and declining prices that seem to be sitting and sitting... It's hard to really understand what's going on unless you look at eBay, which is the one place you can find what something actually sold for.

Top cars will still bring dollars but you need extreme patience. Buyers are scarce due to global anxiety. This does not mean everything has shutdown, it just means people are not taking as many risks on financing luxuries. This kills the mid-level purchases.
