Should I sell my '83
I have a pristine completely original '83 911sc with 37,000 miles. Realistically the car is worth $25K+/-. It is worth $30K to me. I have a buyer that may give me close to $30K. I will not be flipping this for another P-car so I will have an "empty" garage (996 traded for a Maxima last week:-( )
Should I sell? |
Question to ask yourself is whether you want to sell the car.
Does the car only have $$ value to you, or is there a personal / sentimental value as well? Price shouldn't be the sole factor in the decision unless you are a reseller, which you have stated that you are not. Offer is close to what its value is to you so once you determine the answer to the first question, its merely negotiating the price to sell it for. jb |
You have been mulling this for awhile......

The best time to sell a car like that is when your family is settling your estate.
Of course you don't want to sell it! What were you thinking? |
The question is why are you selling? Are you tired of walking past a car that you never drive each morning? Do you need the cash?
It sounds like you have a good offer (especially in this economy) if you don't use it and there's not a sentimental reason to keep it, I say let it go. It's not like it will be worth 40k in the next 5 years. This may also give you an opportunity to buy something else. The counter to this is if you enjoy taking it out on nice days; it's probably only costing you insurance and some minor maintenance to enjoy. |
I would sell it. Take the money and leave it in the bank as cash is king.

Might never get an offer that high for a very long time. |
If we ever have a positive Pcar market again, yours is poised to be the one to own. Low mile original SC/Carrera cars, especially in unique colors, coupes, and low production options, are the 911E/S cars of the last market cycle.

Let it roll. It sounds like you found a buyer who is under the ether. John

Sell it, pocket 15K and buy another SC for 15K. The 15K SC will holds its value over time, if its a good car. Many excellent examples on the market now and you do not have to be paronoid over ownership because it will not have 37,000 miles on it! No brainer to me....................
