price check on '77 911s
I've been away from the 911 world for a few years now and was wondering what a 76 or 77 is going for these days. A friend of mine told me about a '77 around my area with 115,xxx miles. The seller claims it is rust free and that the engine and trans. ha been rebuilt, though I'm not sure how long ago. It is white with a red interior. Any ballpark numbers on how much a car like this would be worth, assuming it is in decent condition?

I'd say around 10K if it's in excellent condition, less if not. Right now you can find decent SC's ('78-'83) for 10K.
Hope this helps.

Yes, I would agree.........maybe $10K tops if in good condition. Most people are settling for the more updated and more reliable SC's since they can be found pretty cheap now.
Most potential buyers will want to know more details on the engine/trans rebuild, and will want to see documentation. This is very important since the 2.7's have a bad reputation already. People will want proof of a quality rebuild including repair of the notorious head studs I'm sure. That's my $.02 ![]() |

When the markets come back, so too will MidYears.. why? because no one has wanted them for 20 years. Original, unmolested ones are scarce. They aren't making them anymore either. They are relatively lightweight and when the smog equipment is removed and engine updates made, they keep up with SCs quite well. That said, the market for most Midyears (non carreras) puts them in the $8-12K range which means they compete with SCs and some cases, early 80's carreras.
