fair sale price on 01 996 Turbo

Hi All,

I am going to put my 996 Turbo on eBay and wanted to get an idea of what a fair reserve should be.
I want to it to sell.
It's a 2001 Turbo, 29,750 miles with most options (WPOAB29911S685854).

Nav, 6spd, new tires, Silver ( the car was Yellow...but I had it changed to Silver...first class job though. This is what makes it hard for me to gauge the worth.) with Black interior. The car is an 8.5-9 out of 10 in condition.

Post paint job:

Thanks!
Jim

Nice looking car!

In this economy, you're going to take an absolute beating on the value. You might get $30k for it if you're lucky. If someone offers you any higher than $35k right now, I'd take it and run.

Unfortunately the respray is going to kill the "collectible" value, even if it's done well.

How good was the silver re-paint? - ie, door sills, undersides? engine compartment? How much yellow is still visable? Why was it done? (ie, accident, just change of flavor? etc). To me, yellow would be worth more than silver (see may too many silver ones). The lowish miles should make it worth $$ but the repaint spooks me. I think anything north of $32K would be reasonable reserve. But, can you afford to sell it at that price?

2001 996tt

If it was not repainted and had no stories it would be worth $35-43K. The color change dramatically reduces the value.

With our economy the way it is, I concur on a $30k-$35k value. The repaint really kills its value, especially in a different color. Just look at the pricing of 996 turbos on eBay. They are in the high $30s and still not selling.

I really don't know what to tell you. I don't even know if the 996 turbo prices will rebound after our economy recovers. There were so many 996 turbos made, their pricing may end up tanking like the 996 Carreras.
