Does anyone know Bernie out of Bullet Racing, Vancouver?
Hello,
Bernie works for Bullet Racing out of Vancouver, and they race porsches in the pro grand am series, (rolex 24 hours, etc,). I was looking if anyone as some feedback on him as a mechanic (preference into 964s)? Thank you! |

Hey there-
I'm Jeff Grant, Manager of Bullet Racing, so I work with Bernie a lot. Ross Bentley and Kees Nierop are both team drivers for us, and both have had nothing but fantastic things to say about Bernie and his work. I, too, have nothing but great things to say about Bernie and his work... and it's not just the "manager" in me saying that. I also own/race my own '79 RSR-clone, and Bernie does all my work. From a custom built transmission (the BEST 915 I've ever run), custom header/exhaust work, to pit-side support, he's THE guy I'd go to, regardless of who else was available. Combine that with his experience and expertise with setting up cars for the track, and it's a very potent combination. Not only is he fantastic with our '09 Grand-Am spec Cup Car, but he also maintains our fleet of other race cars, from a 800+ HP twin turbo, to multiple Koni-spec 993's. Feel free to PM me with your contact info and I'd be happy to discuss further, if you like. And here's a gratuitous shot of my car (#45) beside Steve Paquette (Bullet Team Owner) and his twin turbo at the Westwood 50 races a few weeks ago. My car won 2 races and came second in the third race, by the way. ![]() |

You may also know of Jeff Alton from this board, as someone who builds out race engines, manufactures Fuchs replicas, etc.
He's having Bernie work on his car that he's converting into a race car (about time!), and could also probably chime in with something to say, if he wishes. Last edited by jeffgrant; 09-13-2009 at 10:25 AM.. |

I have known Bernie for a number of years. I first met him when he rebuild a 915 in a factory turbo bodied 911 I had. Bernie does excellent work.
Bernie and I recently re did the setup on my track car prior to our last event. Turned out great! Over the winter Bernie will be re-gearing my 915 and rebuilding the LSD in it as well. I run a small shop and refer trans work and chassis setup to Bernie, two things I leave to the real experts.... I am pretty familiar with Bullet Racing as I was one of the Driver Spotters at the Rolex 24 this year and got to see him work non stop prepping the car and keeping it running throught out the week. Cheers

Thank you all for your input
Thanks to both of you for your fedback. The intent was to have a car (91 911 Turbo) repaired and inspected by Bernie. Thanks again,
