1980 SC Inspection

I'm going to look at this 1980 911 SC tonight:

The advertisement said something like - one owner california car.

In speaking with the seller, he said that his brother had restored it, but it wasnt registered. . . .

It "looks" pretty good, anything to look out for in particular?

I'll take some pictures too.

* I mentioned an inspection (PPI), he said something like, you can inspect it here. . . we'll see.
Thanks

Yeah, I didnt part that conversation with a lot of confidence. Doesn't sound like I'm going to get a whole lot of the history of this - 30 year old - 911.

No inspection, no sale is my mentality.

But, its only about 20 minutes away, so I am going to look at it anyway.

If you feel comfortable working on cars, a leak down test will tell you the engines condition. Take it for a drive will tell how the CIS is working. Look for accident damage. Check the paint code on the door jamb. Check the vin #s and see if they match each other and the title. Look to see if the spring plate cover is resting on the spring plates, meaning bad bushings. Shake each wheel for bearings, tie rods, bushings, etc...

No reason you couldn't do it there if you knew what to do.
