Value of '87 with 145k?

I have been toying with the idea of picking up a 993, which will force me to sell my 1987 Targa. The car is a daily driver, but is in very good shape overall, inside and out. Everything works as it should and the car shifts smoothly pulls very strong. New tires and brakes included.

I have researched the for sale forums on a myriad of porsche sites as well as listings on ebay, craigslist and other places and prices on similar seem to be quite random. What price do you think is reasonable for this car.

D,
I
purchased my 87 Targa in August with less than 3k miles on the rebuilt motor. The car is in mint condition with just under 140k miles. The car is concourse quallity and I'm the 3rd owner.

The seller was asking $17,500 and I purchased it for $16,200 because the Targa Top wasn't original and he collected Muscle Cars so he took good car of the car.

Now granted, right now it is a buyers market especially in South Florida. I have been seeing 87's going for $17-19k depending on the location of the car.

If by any chance you have a used 87 Targa Top you would want to sell, let me know.

Good Luck!

Thanks, Ed. That gives me a little perspective and reinforces roughly what I expected. While my car does not have a rebuilt engine (no need) and is not concours, it is in very good condition and much better than most daily drivers that I have seen.

I have listed my car on several sites to gauge the market. We'll see what happens...

Thanks again!

You should be looking at an actual sale price between $14-16K depending on your local conditions and how well the car shows.

Thanks, McLovin. That reaffirms the price range I expected

The car shows very well - it truly is a greet looking car. I have flirted with selling it by posting locally to Craigslist as well as on Oodle, PelicanParts and PCA.org. I have yet to generate a response.
