1974 911 Coupe

I own a 1974 911 coupe which i would like to sell. It's been parked on the side of the house for five years. I hardly drove it. It ran fine before i put it in storage,(minus oil leaks). When i try to start it now it leaks gas at the CIS. Has any one had this problem before?

You're going to need your fuel distributor rebuilt. Not a cheap repair but worth the money if you are going to try to sell the car. Running versus non-running is a big price jump.

I hope you aren't placing that plastic tarp directly on the paint..........If it's any of my business.

I just went through a no dirving issue with my car. Started leaking when parked for eight months and not driving. When someone states "they need to driven", they aren't making it up.
Leaking fuel........nasty business it is.

How much for the car?

Hi Robert, nice to see your car - looks like a cool '74. What the other folks may be trying to say is that leaving your car undriven for a while is bad - bad for the rubber parts, and bad for the fuel injection. Once this happens, you really have to assess and address the entire fuel delivery system - from the tank to the injectors. Given you car's age, many parts could have, or likely have, failed and will need to be replaced or repaired.

Probably the best advice is for you to search this forum extensively, read all you can, and then provide specific details for the forum experts to assess and reply. Many are willing to help out, but you'll have to take some initiative on your own. If you are not the DIY type - find a good Porsche mechanic! Many on this board can provide advice for local shops.

Best of luck. Post more pictures and info!

Car looks sweet! Robert take your time restarting. 74 MY are very nice cars which are starting to gain in popularity. Bring it to a proper mechanic if it is outside your skill set. It will be worth it.
