Why oh WHY did I look at December 1991 Excellence??
Because THAT is when I was shopping for a Porsche... and was following Bruce Anderson's advice to "buy the newest 911 you can afford." Dammit Bruce!!
OK, I got a great car, a 1986 Carrera Cab with only 24.5K miles. It's probably worth half the 28K I paid for it back then, but it's been a great car that's delivered a lot of pleasure. But, what if I had followed my gut, and got the older 911S I initially wanted? Here we go, cars that were available in December 1991... 1972 911S COupe, 77K miles, all original and like new. $21,900 1966 911S (33rd 911S chassis and 12th 911S engine built), 69K miles. $26,000 1973 911 with all "S" options, and a real 2.7RS 911/83 Carrera engine. $18,500 Oh well..... JB
