Question 1994 Speedster with mods

How much would you pay for a black 1994 Speedster with a wide-body mod? Car has 61k miles on it. No service records but maintenance done. Original wheels not available.

Depends... iirc, in europe, they did come in widebody. Is it a gray market example?

If a US example, I would wonder why it was done (ie,was it in an accident? is it really an "america roadster" that has been modded? Maybe its really a cab that was all swapped up? )

I don't recall the original wheels being special, other than perhaps body colored.

I imagine a "correct" example sells in the $40-50K range.. but that would have lower miles most likely. A 964 cab would be a $20-25K car?

What's it worth to you to have such an example ?

The wide-body was done locally. The wheels are after-market ones. I'm thinking $33k but who knows......if he is desperate

Nice examples of 1994 speedsters have been going in the 50k range. I would guess that this one with the modes, miles and no service records would be maybe a high 30's car? Hard to say without seeing the condition of the car and knowing what the story behond the wide body conversion is. The standard wheels are nothing special, they're just cup 1's and some were painted the body color.

I looked at one in the LA area before around 7-8 years ago. Sounds like the same one. It was in a accident, so they but on the kit. Was not installed correctly and was starting to crack between the body and rear fenders. Don't know if it's the same one, but its the same color.

I doubt you can get a low mileage 1 for 40's , most are trading for 50's and up (I know I been watching everyone of them from ebay, autotraders, cars.com etc) and I have seen them as high as 100k for cream puffs and ultra low mileage. Conversion is not a big deal, always redo back to narrow body and replace narrow fenders, bumpers and you be back to original shape. I think a clean 60k mileage car should still retail high 40's or even lo 50's. Deduct a few grand for the conversion and you probably at mid $40's for that car. These cars are still relatively new and they have not fallen into the long nose categories yet so any conversion is not a big deal and retrofittable as long as a competant body shop does the work. I would be all over it if its still available. Seller email me if it is. I much prefer a wide body look, drive it now widebody and all and enjoy it while it appreciates then when it gets to the age when all needs to be correct change it back to narrow and you have a win win situation.

My thoughts are:

widebody + 964 + speedster = OMG =)

I think I remember this one you're talking about. I was sorta considering it, but I never made it down to actually see it in person. This one was black, had a widebody conversion and had some sort of aftermarket chrome wheels on it. It also had a salvage title. Could this be the same car we are all talking about??

My widebody is hurting my sale of my 94 turbo speedster. But it's the only way I would own one.

Dunavantent, you could probably sell your car real fast if you had a factory Strosek hardtop for it....haha. I like the one I have.

I thought you were going to keep it?
