price point for used decklid?

I am wanting to purchase a FG early style decklid for my 83 cabriolet. I have to be careful with the play money though so wondering what a good price would be for selling my used decklid. It is Ruby Red, but needs to be assumed as a prep for repaint lid (no damage other than deep swirls in paint).

I will also be selling my decklid grille as well. It is an original 25 year old SC grille. Decent price on that?

Thanks.

Can't you save the grill and re-use on the new ducktail? I sold an old decklid for $100. Had holes from where a turbo tail was bolted to it. No grill.

nah, i'll be using mesh, andthe grilles are different on the early decklid (has a center divider on decklid)

$100 seems to be about the going rate.

I bought one a few weeks ago, complete decklid and grille off an 80s Carrera, good shape, for $100.

I think you can do better if you offer the lid and the grille separately. Good decklids seem to be $100 whether or not they have the grille. Can probably get $50-75 for the grille, separately.

Of course, if you find the guy who really wants it and is ready to buy, you can get more. But for budgeting purposes, I'd count on $150-$200 for it.

SC decklids have a bit less of an audience than the later Carrera lids. The Carrera lids came with a stick on emblem, so can be used on any 911 without having to weld up emblem holes. The SC decklid has a bunch of holes, so if the buyer is using it on something other than an SC, the holes will have to be dealt with.

I haven't seen a decent engine lid for years under $200, so congrats on the $100 deals. The plastic grilles are $75 and up by themselves.

Engine lids are often bought by body shops on insurance repair tickets, which means much less price sensitivity.
