Craig's List Issue
Have found several Boxsters on Craig's List with only the CL's Email address.....no other contact info.
Have EM'd them several times over a weeks period and no response. Why put your car on the site if you have no interest in responding when someone inquires!!!!!!!! Is there a way around to contact the lister other than through the CL's EM address? Quite frustrating |
Sometimes Craigslist will mark your email as spam if you're not in the seller's immediate location. At least that's what I've seen whenever I've used Craigslist.

Cl
That could be it.......
Been looking at Boxsters in a 2-300 mile radius of Detroit. Darn......would hate to loose out over this issue |
When advertising on CL, I never put any contact info other than the CL email. Too many scammers are paying for valid email and phone numbers. I've also seen the 'non response' phenomenon and usually the seller has sold the car or is in negotiations and 90% of emails are "is the item still available?" phishing scams. So your inquiry, if not specifically worded to the car, could be seen as more of that.

It's craigslist. Assuming 90% of the emails you send out will never be returned. It's the nature of the beast.
However, there's the other side of it. I applied to my job at Carquip through craigslist. I never heard back from them for 4 months. But they got the email and the resume. When the guy they had hired didn't work out they called me back and ask me to come in for an interview. You can bet I got over it. They hired me, I got my start in this industry, and spent 5 years of my life working there. And that's not the only instance I can cite where I sent an email into the deep dark unknown of the internet and had it come back weeks or months later to yield results. The point is don't lose hope. Just keeping sending the emails. You'll find the car you're looking for, eventually. |
Following on this theme....I know Craigslist is supposed to be a "local" source of goods and services...but is there a way to at least "search" for a particular item on a nationwide basis?.
Say, for exemple, you were looking for a 911 and travel to the seller's location is not a problem. Why do I need to re-enter and re-search the same item many, many times....each time, with a different city hub? |

If you start to get lots of spam emails, that is your first tip off... |
I have used Craiglook: Craigslist Search to do an all Craigslist search. It has worked well for me.

search by owner and look for a detailed description. With any Pcar, the owner should be knowledgeable and passionate...if they are not, they are probably a professional flipper or dealer. Not that a dealer is a bad thing, but if you want details, my experience is it's best to buy from someone who knows the car, or at least it's history.....
