Middle Year Rollers

I would like to build a track car from a roller. What is the value of middle year rollers? Perhaps an SC? I found one for $5500. That seams pricey considering there is no transmission or engine.

Depending on the condition seem them from, Free (stripped) $500 (half stripped) $2000 (good deal) $3500 (with fuchs)

$5500 to me seems high also...I would pay around $2000-$3500 for a right tub

Thanks, that seams about right. Especially since this is a recession, and knowing the cost of building, and the time it takes for me to do the work.

James recession? Some don't understand that ....Ebay 88 Targa for $27k , this 911 must have stocks in the glovebox ;)

I am sure you may know this already....rust will be just about the largest factor in pricing for a "roller" on a middie/SC for sure.

I agree with the pricing above, but would pay $5500 (or more) for a rock solid, no rust, non-sunroof, all parts intact roller (without engine and trans).

Call me crazy, but given the ammount of money that needs to be invested to build a good Porsche for the track or street, I want to start with the best example possible.

You may save a few $1000 now, but after you spend $20-30k building the car the way you want it is just a drop in the bucket.

I agree, especially a suroof delete. But there are deals to be had...I hope.
