Private/dealer price...SCARY!!

Looked at this nice ´77 at the dealer.

A reference quality '77 Porsche 911S Sunroof, now for sale at Californiaclassix.com!

Wanted to buy it and asked for some additional info regarding rust. The seller never answered back........Lucky me!

Found the private ad the dealer had bought it from. Nice profit he will make...almost criminal!

1977 Porsche 911S

Wont buy from dealer anymore!!!!

Just because he asks doesn't mean he will get.
In any event, this is still perfectly legal in the US and it looks like a nice clean car from the dealer photos.

It looks very nice! Would like to have bought it from the original seller!

The word "criminal" was ironic. Still interested in the car though if under 20.000.

Someone noticed the rust under the rear seats.

He'll be keeping the car for a while...

He says that he will post additional pictures later and that it is not rust.

If you zoom in on the picture it actually does not look like rust - just some brown gunk........but hardly from the factory as I am informed.

Even so, it is still in 993 territory with his asking price.

He is asking $24,900 for the car. Like I said, just because you ask, doesn't mean you will get. I don't think the mid-years have yet reached the status of commanding such prices, but I've seen some trade up in the high teens. christiandk, you may very well be able to buy the car for $20k if you pursue it, who knows. I have no experience with the dealer, but from his web site and some of his eBay listings that I've seen in the past, he seems to have nice cars.

too much money! I dont think the rear seat bottom looks as suspect as the pushed in floor pan just fwd of the trans mount. What about the lack of thermo reactors? Is CA getting lax on their smog inspections? I think $15k is a fair price, but its not about what I would pay.

California classics used to do business as classy chassis I believe years ago before they
moved up the 101 to Agoura Hills , I may be mistaken by some odd chance but their tactics
and choice of "cherry" automobiles rings all to familiar...Bert
