buying out of state car

I am in California and looking for a 1987-89 911. I saw a couple car ads from out of state. I am wondering how much trouble it is to buy it from out of state.

Do all the 87-89 911 models meet the CA emission requirement, aka '50-state' certified?

If the car is not modified, and in good condition, is it easy to pass the CA smog test?

Thanks in advance.

Assuming the car in question is as originally delivered (ie, the engine wasn't swapped out) it should be fine.
