16x7 Fuch worth anything?

I recently obtained this dented 16x7 (not even sure it's authentic...will have to read the back once I have time to clean it up). From what I can see, it's not so far gone that it can't be trued. I bought it for a hose rack, but don't want to "waste" a wheel that might be worth something to somebody...

Looks like a hose rack to me.

I agree. Most reputable wheel shops won't bang a Fuchs back into shape.

Really? I thought one of the good things about forged wheels was that they can bend and not break, which sort of implies that bent wheels can be bent back to shape. No?

We have a great wheel shop here. I've seen them do amazing work. I think it's about $100/wheel for damage like this. They put the wheel on a huge lathe and use an assortment of tools to bend it back. Then they throw it on a balancer to "fine tune" it.

Again, not sure what the wheel would be worth after spending $100 on it...I'd rather keep it for a hose rack!

With all those chew marks on it, it'd be worth around $100 if you spent $100 getting it straightened.

If you put another $175-$200 into it getting it stripped, fixed, reanodized and repainted, it would be worth $250.

Unfortunately, when you weld up a fuchs where this needs repair, the anodizing will highlight the repair. That's why the wheel shops that repair fuchs wheels often don't offer anodizing. Even on unrepaired wheels, I've seen anodizing fail in fairly ugly ways. So 'faux anodizing' is best in this case.

But at the end of the day, as danny & mclovin imply, it's not worth fixing.
