Another Possible Car
 

I am not sure if anyone is familiar with this car? It is exactly (almost) what I am after. It is prepared track car. Any thoughts on pricing? The car has about 6,500 miles of track time on a rebuild; I would think that would be considered allot on 3.0L that has 269 RWHP. I also realize thatit would need a leak down/compression check and thurough PPI. I am looking for some thoughts on it. Thanks for any help.

From my days running in NNJR PCA (up till about 2006 with frequency) I know both the owner and the car.

Looks like a 3.2 built from a 3.0. HP seems high to me if its still single plug, and running carbs. imho, 270rwhp means about 300 at the crank.. from a pump gas 3.2? Now, if you said 270 flywheel hp (about 240 at the wheels) i'd believe more readily.

That said, before a rebuild in '06 the car would pull my more street based SC (also a 3.2 with 220hp at the crank) quite easily.

For the price ($16 ish?) its a steal imho.. assuming a PPI of the motor works out. It would cost easily double to build.

Thanks the insight. I was wondering about the HP as well. I assume that this a "short stroke" 3.2. Possibly 10+ compression. It looks to be single plug.

That said, this is a 3.0 L engine that is putting out high HP numbers. It is an engine that is stressed when compared to a 3.6 He has run 6500 miles of track time. That may have caused considerable ware on the engine.

The car does appear to be a little rough. Which I am 100% OK with, I am not sure what that means when determining the value?

Realize that it is NOT street legal, so you will need a trailer ;) 0 hr rebulid trans with a quaife LSD! Like I said, have some numbers pulled on the motor (compression, leakdown etc). Ask to see the dyno sheets. You will NEVER come close to building a car like this for only $16K and if your worried about the motor, sell it and drop in a 993 3.6 :)

6500 miles may sound like a lot.. but its only 1600 miles per year.
