Where have the 3.2's gone?

Has anyone noticed the lack of excellent 3.2's for sale? I mean orginal paint sub 80k miles with historys. Seems like its a two tier market now with excellent original cars becoming very hard to find and high mile/modified cars everywhere. I am thinking a lot have headed overseas or are being held my serious collectors who are not interested in selling.

There are plenty of them, with a range from $24K for what you're describing and high mile cars down to $6.5K. A pricing disparity that large is unwarranted, IMO. Buyers of used Mercedes rarely balk at 200K mile cars. (most) Porsche guys start to get nervous over 100K. Makes no sense to me.

they are out there -just in fewer numbers, so it takes longer to find -- I just bot 88targa 70k from orig. owner --all orig. paint and service records . The flip side to lower mile cars is sitting too much is worse on them -- the tires on my car were from 1990 and the oil had not been changed in 3 yrs -- so I believe there is a balance one has to weigh -- good luck

Boy, if you think 3.2's are hard to find, try 964 C2 5 speed coupes.

I agree, I don't get the fear. I've picked up two 3.2l Carreras right around the 100k mi mark in the last 6 months. Both have been 915 cars that have 10k mi or less on properly rebuilt gearboxes. In my mind both these cars should run for another 100k mi without major concerns.

I'm counting on it, since I picked one up at 227K miles -- and I had no history on the car...

So far, so good.
