1989 911 25th Anny Plaque
Greetings. I'm a new subscriber and would appreciate any help someone could provide. I'm the new owner of a 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 25th anniversary edition in metallic silver with the linen gray interior and black piping. Unfortunately, the special plaque that was provided with the car is missing and not affixed to the glove compartment door. I would like to procure one for my car, but don't know where to start. Thanks in advance for any assistance provided. Pete

i think the 25th aniversay car was a 75 or 76, not the 89. any trophy shop could make you something but i dont believe your car had one, ever.

the 25 anniversay edition he has is for the 25th aniversary of the 911. below is a link to one sloan has for sale. the one you reffer to is a 1975 25th aniversary 911 that is i think for 25 yrs of porsche being sold in the US.
1989 Porsche 911 25th Anniversary Edition Black metallic /gray 6001 miles | Sloancars sloan noted the glove box plaque you are looking for but deos not show it. maybe he can snap a pcture and give you the dimensions and as the vintagecarlover says maybe a trohoy shop can make one. this may be an item you will never find w/o a number already engraved on it.

Thanks cellison -- I do have a picture of one. It appears to be a bronze-colored metal plaque approx 1" high by 4" long. Left side contains the Porsche crest and to the right (in two separate lines) are the words 25th Anniversary (top line) Special Edition (bottom line). There does not appear to be any identifying number affixed to the plaque. Perhaps I need to query Porsche HQ in Germany.
By the way, I noted that you live in GA -- I live in Savannah. Thanks for your help and insight. |

well since it doesn't have a number maybe you can get lucky and find one. if Porsche is no help, try putting an add on pelican parts for sale/wanted and in the PCA magazine if you are a memeber.
Savannah is nice but I haven't been there in years. may try to get down for the PCA parade this summer.

It's the 25th anniversary 911, the sales brochure I think shows an unnumbered plaque, somewhat like the one below. Finding the sales brochure and the plaque would be too much for one night:-)
