911T for sale on roadside in Minn

Just an unusual sight to see, when driving home from a week at a cabin in northern Minnesota, I see parked in a weedy field, a black '71 911T. This is an area where things for sale on the roadside are likely to be a rusty pickup, trashed RV, and maybe a fishing boat, certainly not a Porsche. I pulled over, mostly out of curiosity, hiked back through the weeds, and it was actually not a bad looking example. Looked like a recent respray, no visible rust, and what looked like an add-on tail. It had beige cloth recaros, and I think 85k miles.

Eventually, a guy moseyed over, and told me some details, and said it was on craigslist. The price on the sign said $15,900, was crossed off and replaced by $13,900, and the guy said "make me an offer". It's not for me, but I was still surprised to see it in such an unlikely place.

Never seen a rearend like that. Has small bumpers but with reflector. I would think that's not original is it?

Funny you mention the reflector. The rear end did have a slightly unoriginal look to it, and the rear reflector was a bit loose. The owner stated that someone looking at the car slammed the the engine lid down very hard and that caused the reflector to get a little "wonky" (as we like to say in Minn.)

No, not original at all. Center reflector has been added. Tail is of course, not even period correct. Looks like it runs judging by the steam in one pic...

Yes, all true. Owner offered to get the keys and let me drive it, and demonstrate that it ran well and that the sunroof, etc. all worked, but my family was waiting, so I didn't take him up on his offer. He knew that the tail and the wheels were not original, but didnt know much else about the car.

The rear bumper is an aftermarket upgrade to "front date" if you will. When early cars were SO undesired (late 70s-early late 80s) , many tried to make them look like the 74+ impact bumper cars. Rear spoiler is a big much too, especially if a still stock 2.2L T motor resides.

Could be a fair "barn find" for the right person.
