Used 3.0 Pistons - Value?

Hi,

This section of Pelican can be very helpful in the land of "used parts". I appreciate any help given. Thanks.

My Euro pistons have not passed spec. They will make excellent paper weights for six desks. Needles to say I am disappointed.

My 3.0 cylinders did pass spec, I now need pistons. What should I pay for a set of "within spec", used 95mm pistons that are 9.3 Compression? I see that a set of new JE's can be bought for about $1000.

Thanks

James

I have found a set of Mahle 95mm 9.3:1 CR (95L67). What would you pay? Owner says that they have about 60,000 miles. I am not sure what mileage claims are worth, but he does say that they are within spec.

Garage
P&C's

Sometimes good used Mahle P&C's pop up for around $600.00 +/-.

I'd guess the pistons & rods alone would be $300 +/-

Good luck, I'm having a devil of a time sourcing Max Moritz 9:8:1's for a 3.0 short stroke, new ones are $4k +....

Why dont you use JE pistons with 3.2 cylinders? Not sure what it would cost, but it is more than I can afford.

Would $250 for pistons alone be about right?
