901/02 1967 911S engine

Hi,

A car I am thinking about buying seems to have an interesting engine mounted. It is a 2 litre 1967 S engine, rebuilt by the very capable PO, and seems to be complete with the IDS carbs. The shroud is painted, and I am afraid that the engine might be too, since it is a bit too glossy but in the same color.

The engine is of no use to me, and I will sell it on if I buy the car, to recoup as much as possible of the purchase price. I know this is hard, since the engine is in Europe, but maybe someone could share the US value?

The range for a complete, original 901/02 engine is anywhere from $5K to $12K, depending on condition. It would be worth the most to someone with the matching number chassis, but that would be akin to finding a needle in a haystack.
