911R inspired hot rod value
Hi All,
I'm looking at all options to get my remaining 2 kids through college, and selling my R inspired hot rod has been discussed lately. I'm looking for help in ariving at a realistic value. The car is a 1968 Euro 911L with a 3.0 1978 911SC motor. It has 40mm Weber carbs, headers and sport exhaust, approx. 200 h.p. The gearbox is a 901 with Kennedy Engineering flywheel, stage II clutch and pressure plate. The body has fiberglass front fenders, hood, doors, bumpers and rear decklid. the remaining sheetmetal has no rust issues, weighed in at 1850lbs. with a few gallons of gas and no driver. The int. is bare bones, stripped and painted satin black. This car is far from being perfect, but is a fairly accurate 911R replica and has some very nice details. Loud, Fast and Fun. Looking for help establishing a value for this car to see if selling is an option. Thanks, Matt ![]() ![]() ![]()

Matt, I've no idea on the value..............
but after seeing your car on Saturday, I'd say it's worth every penny! Just an awesome car.

$35,000 to $40,000.
Hot Rods are really languishing in this market.....

30+ easily if you find someone where this is their taste. I would say you will find a lot of people where this is right up their alley.

Here is a similar but very different early hot-rod for $21k, but he has a big hot 3.2 engine and short gears;

I would have to say nice car but $40k would be a stretch. I would think at that price there better be some very special drivetrain.
I think it looks killer but the matte paint will get tiresome and you made it lighter by removing items but never addressed the removed items holes or mounting. A couple block off plates would be nice touches. I am going to say this is one where all will say I can do the same cheaper and as noted above $20 is a good number I would take and not look back. The again do the EBAY and who knows maybe 2 guys will like the matte finish as much as me, although hopefully they have the cash |

Thanks for the opinions. They seem to support where I had placed the value. The car is currently insured for an agreed upon value of $25k and I would probably let it go for around that number, hopefully to someone who will enjoy it not flip it. I'll keep everone posted.
Matt

That would IMO be a steal @ $25,000.
Your car seems from the pictures to be quite well done.

under-priced!
How many potential buyers at $27,000? This car was a $30,000 car at least.
